Is it a Book or a Screenplay?

Hi there!

I love summer in Montreal because it means lots of outdoor schmoozers where I get to mingle with all sorts of writers, artists and the just plain curious.

When I mention I teach screenwriting, eyes light up, and before long people are telling me all about their film ideas. Usually it’s an idea they’ve had for a long time but haven’t allowed themselves to pursue.

There are many reasons why people don’t take the risk and one of those reasons is that they aren’t sure how to go about writing a script, and another is they don’t know whether their idea is a screenplay, a book or a short story. Sound familiar?

That confusion got me to thinking, and, as a result, I’ve put together a three-part training course that’s going to answer those questions and more — questions about the differences, how to start, and how to shape your story.

So, if you’ve got a few hours to spare over the next few weeks, be on the look out for my next post with further information on this fun, informative and interactive training series.
