Despite these doubts, you haven’t given up on your writing dreams. And when you talk about it with friends and family, they encourage you, too -- but only so far, because when it comes right down to it, they don't really know what it's like to be consumed with a story you just can't shake.

The first step in liberating your story is having the courage to own your creativity. That means choosing to make room in your life for your writing dreams and then to show up. When you join us at Liberate Your Story, you begin the journey towards identifying where you are, where you want to be, and how you’ll get there.
It’s one thing to imagine your dreams, but it’s an entirely empowering experience to voice your dreams to others. Surrounded by like-minded creative and passionate women, you’ll receive the encouragement and guidance you need to share your dreams out loud. And that brings you one step closer to liberating your story.
One of the biggest blocks to realizing writing dreams is limiting beliefs about your level of creativity. During Liberate Live, you’ll remove your personal blocks to your creativity and reconnect with your internal well of inspiration.
Reconnecting to your creative sources will help you in this next step, which is to articulate your current writing dreams and goals. Vision and knowledge are standpoint dependent, and understanding that allows you to embrace your personal wisdom in the form of story.
When you embrace your innate creativity, you’ll realize how many stories you have inside. So, the next step in the process is to choose the story you’ll focus on, and that one step further on the path of liberating your story.
Once you choose the story that needs to be told now, you can give it shape. During the Liberate Your Story seminar, you’ll learn how to map out your story, flesh it out and give it a life on the page instead of just inside your heart and mind.
After a full day of giving voice and shape to your story, the final step is to commit to bringing it to fruition. Elizabeth shows you how to make room in your busy life for your writing dreams so that your story can flow from idea into reality with ease.
During this fun and interactive day, Elizabeth Johnston will share her creative journey with you. You’ll realize how powerful it is to own your creativity and experience a liberating transformation with Elizabeth’s guidance.
The writing life is a solitary one but it thrives within a community. At Liberate Your Story®, you’ll be surrounded by fellow writers who’ll inspire and challenge you.
During your time with Elizabeth, you’ll come to know your story in a whole new light. When you gain clarity around your story, your purpose is clear and that is key to personal empowerment.

I’ve been involved with story in one form or another for as long as I can remember. At university, I majored in Creative Writing and my MFA was in Film & Video, screenwriting emphasis. During my Master’s, I started teaching and fell in love with it. As a result, my entire career has been dedicated to helping others realize their writing dreams.
Through my writing classes and coaching, I’ve mentored thousands of aspiring writers. I’ve come to learn that knowing the technical aspects of how to write your story is just one of the required elements of successfully realizing your story dream.
Other necessary elements are clarity about the story you’re telling; confidence in your message; as well as belief in your credibility, and level of experience, expertise and imagination. If there is an imbalance in any of these areas, the story you’ve carried around inside of you for so long will remain there.
The truth is that liberating your story is the surest way to create -- and then step into – the next chapter of your life. Storytelling (whether fiction or non-fiction) is about being fearless, about taking risks, and celebrating life.
That’s why I’ve created this special writing seminar: Liberate Your Story. In a warm and fun setting, you’ll sail past your writing blocks in the company of passionate, savvy and courageous women – just like you!
I can’t wait to meet you in Montreal.
All the best,
